There's No Place Like Home
In recent years, factors like inflation, higher rent prices, lack of affordable housing and the pandemic have contributed to the rise in homelessness in the United States and abroad. For this year’s featured service project, we partnered with local organizations dedicated to addressing the issue of rising homelessness in our communities.
In 2023, approximately 1,200 Travelers employees across the United States, Canada and Europe supported our nonprofit partners by volunteering 2,200 hours. They volunteered by working in communal gardens, organizing shelter supplies, helping families move into permanent housing, restoring and distributing furniture and preparing or serving lunches. We also partnered with the United Way to assemble health and hygiene kits for those at risk of, or currently experiencing, homelessness.
In addition, through Girl Scouts of Greater New York’s Troop 6000, which aims to bring the full Girl Scout experience to girls living in New York City’s temporary housing system, Travelers employees and community organizations hosted a health and wellness fair for 300 girls and their families.
Our 2023 service project:
- Included activities in 16 markets in the United States, Canada and Europe.
- Involved 1,200 Travelers employee volunteers.
- Resulted in 3,920 health and hygiene kits packed.
Community Benefits

Travelers Benefits
- Through their volunteer efforts in service of our communities, employee volunteers were also able to further develop their team building, networking and project management skills.
- In addition to its positive impact on communities, these partnerships benefit Travelers by driving stability and security in the places where we operate.
