Solar Installation: Lowering Costs through Renewable Energy
At Travelers, we look for cost-effective ways to minimize our impact on the environment while also reducing our operating expenses. In 2025, we installed a solar array system at our Claim University campus in Windsor, Connecticut, which we believe will largely offset our energy consumption at that site.
This is an example of how we continue to move toward our goal to be carbon neutral across our owned operations by 2030.
Environmental benefits
- Reducing our energy consumption helps us lower our carbon footprint.
- Utilizing renewable energy sources helps provide clean, sustainable power for our operations.
Travelers benefits
- The lower energy costs at Claim University will help reduce our operating expenses.
- Predictable energy costs offer protection against rising electricity rates throughout the solar array system’s lifespan.
- Travelers will gain practical knowledge by observing on-site operations. This real-world exposure will be valuable due to the growing number of solar installations and related insurance claims in the market.
