Travelers Institute®: Cyber: Prepare, Prevent, Mitigate, Restore®

Recognizing that education is critical to enhancing cybersecurity, the Travelers Institute has been promoting cyber awareness through a series titled Cyber: Prepare, Prevent, Mitigate, Restore®. The Travelers Institute has featured nearly 80 educational programs – in person across the United States and Canada or virtually – convening leaders from the public and private sectors to share insights on preparing for, and responding to, evolving cyber threats.

The Travelers Institute hosted seven cybersecurity education programs in 2025. These included in-person programs that convened business leaders alongside independent insurance agents and brokers in locations such as Spokane, Washington; Houston, Texas; St. Paul, Minnesota; and Tulsa, Oklahoma. During the symposia, more than 570 business professionals received tools, such as the Travelers Quarterly Cyber Threat Report, and practical, actionable advice to bolster their cyber hygiene. The audience heard from Travelers cybersecurity experts and a range of government speakers, including from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Throughout 2025, the Travelers Institute offered continuing education (CE) credits to agents and brokers who attended cybersecurity education symposia. In total, nearly 160 agents and brokers across 10 states received CE credit, a valuable step in renewing their insurance license. In addition, through the Travelers Institute’s Wednesdays with Woodward® webinar series, we hosted two virtual programs aimed at helping audiences to better understand the current threat landscape and learn essential practices that can improve their cyber readiness. The first webinar featured two senior members of the Travelers leadership team who provided important context and background on Travelers’ 2024 purchase of Corvus Insurance and how that merger benefits our agents, brokers and insureds. The second webinar featured a former national cyber leader at both the White House and CISA, who provided a global perspective on the cyber threat landscape, an overview of our national cyber defenses and practical advice to help improve everyone’s cyber resilience.

These programs are opportunities for us to share our internal risk management expertise with the public and a platform for government officials to publicize regulatory requirements for data protection and highlight free resources. Past speakers include representatives from CISA, the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Trade Commission and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). These events also provide an important value-add to key constituencies, such as agents and brokers, who partner with us to bring programs to their communities; Travelers customers; public sector organizations and municipalities; and the general public.
